Your Impact

Handshake is hiring for Sr. Lifecycle Marketing Manager to drive outstanding engagement among our students and early career talent who use Handshake. You will leverage data, user insights, and an experimentation mindset to move our users from signup, through successful onboarding, to finding and applying for jobs. Iterable will be your main tool, and you will run our full range of lifecycle communications.

As our Sr. Lifecycle Marketing Manager, you will create a growth engine that will help an ever-growing number of students connect with employers, find and apply for jobs on Handshake. You’ll create and rapidly test content to increase the number of students creating a great profile, engaging with our community, and applying for jobs. You’ll deeply understand the life stages and seasonality of student cohorts and identify when they need more information to take the next step. You’ll use email, push notifications and SMS to ensure students will get more value from Handshake, apply for more jobs, and get hired more often.

Your Role

  • Drive multi-channel (including email, push, SMS) lifecycle outreach strategies to our students focused on activating, onboarding, engaging them – all leading to a student’s making the relationships and attain their first job in their preferred career
  • Identify successful campaigns and those that need further optimization through cohorted reporting and program analysis
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Data Science, Analytics, Product, Engineering and Design teams to gather and brief requirements for the development of channel campaigns and participate in the creative review and approval process. Owning end-to-end management of these programs.
  • Use analytics and qualitative and quantitative insights to identify, size and prioritize opportunities that drive business objectives and key results
  • Establish mechanisms to measure success of work and proactively pull and share-out accurate results post-launch, plus use the outcomes of projects to inform and develop future plans
  • Evaluate performance of existing lifecycle efforts to optimize impact and develop tests to see results
  • Document all lifecycle touch points and segmentation strategy while defining key behaviors and core segments for agent partner audience
  • Utilize a multi-channel strategic approach when developing and optimizing campaigns thoughtfully incorporating all channels available including email, push, sms, content, and site experience

Your Experience

  • 6+ years of experience with 3+ years in lifecycle marketing, CRM or email marketing.
  • Experience using enterprise level ESP, preferably Iterable.
  • Highly technical and data driven marketer. SQL experience required.
  • Functional knowledge of HTML/CSS required.
  • Deep, proven experience developing lifecycle marketing / CRM programs.
  • Strong experimentation toolkit, with experience developing and executing A/B tests.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
  • Strong program/project management skills, driving from insight to ideation to execution.
  • Prior experience at a consumer technology, e-commerce or edtech company preferred.

Bonus Areas Of Expertise

  • Consumer content experience, ideally with engaging college students or Gen Z
  • Copywriting experience

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
