The Senior Marketing Specialist is a thought leader in email marketing best practices, building engagement for all of our user touch points, including CRM, email member promotions with a focus on driving retention, and lengthening LTV. This position will require you to think big picture, enjoy testing and iterating, have a relentless drive and passion for the customer, and will roll up your sleeves to execute.

The Senior Marketing Specialist will provide Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions to meet client needs including design, configuration, and testing activities on email marketing and member promotions. Additional tasks will include proofing and editing based on content and feedback provided by collaborators. They must have a willingness to enthusiastically accept many varied projects and new responsibilities as assigned.


  • Collaborates with Marketing Manager on the execution of Member Experience marketing strategies through email journeys, triggered emails, dedicated emails and member promotional landing pages
  • Lead, assign, coordinate, follow up, and debrief team through the design and implementation of emails and member related landing pages
  • Identify opportunities to engage our customers along their journey, reduce churn, increase customer sentiment, and ultimately increasing LTV
  • Execute numerous successful marketing strategies simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines with a high degree of quality
  • Ability to clearly communicate progress and summarize data to all levels within the organization on email campaigns and journeys
  • Establish and optimize procedures related to the production and workflows of email content - contact cadence, A/B testing, dynamic content personalization, customer segmentation and lifecycle strategies based on customer persona data
  • Monitor email file health and deliverability by adhering to best send practices and CAN-SPAM laws
  • Analyze a variety of emails, journeys and campaigns; work with data analysts to craft ad hoc reports, identify trends and anomalies and take action based on key performance indicators
  • Geo-targeting and personalization of email campaigns for Events and Training classes
  • Seek out and proactively present new marketing automation opportunities in SalesForce Marketing Cloud, ReturnPath and SalesForce
  • Managing and assisting with email creation, copywriting, basic HTML coding, URL structure, and tracking for all company emails or developing landing pages
  • Keep abreast of current digital trends, consumer behaviors, and other opportunities by consistently bring new ideas to Member Experience team

Skills/Abilities And Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, journalism, english, communications or related field or equivalent experience and 5+ years of Email Marketing experience
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills
  • Strong understanding of email best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of quality
  • Be a self starter with the ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Proven time management skills for deadline driven work
  • Proficiency in Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc),
  • Solid knowledge and experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud (i.e. Photoshop, XD, Sketch), CMS (e.g., WordPress), Google Analytics, and Unbounce a plus
  • SalesForce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) experience or similar Marketing Automation tools (hubspot, pardot, etc) - Experience with Content Builder a plus
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, AMP script, & MJML
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of project management tools: Trello, Monday, Jira
  • Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude
