Looking for a fast-paced, fun environment where you can make an immediate impact? Skift, the most influential business media company covering the travel industry, is seeking an enthusiastic Retention Marketing Manager to focus on all things customer experience within the subscription lifecycle. If implementing strategic multi-channel renewal campaigns from start to finish – creative writing, audience segmentation, analytical review – is your jam, along with soft skills like being detail-oriented, innovative, and flourishing as an independent worker on a results-driven marketing team, we’re looking for you.

 

Skift is a fully distributed, remote company with a team based around the globe. This position is remote, from anywhere in the United Kingdom or the United States, and requires a high level of coordination and communication skills to be successful. You must be able to work independently, meet goals, and set tasks in a timely manner, join meetings via video, and periodically work outside normal company hours for special events or projects.

 

As a Retention Marketing Manager at Skift, your main focus will be monetizing current subscriber base – through upselling to bundles, cross-selling where appropriate, and renewing current terms. You’ll have an eagle-eye on every product lifecycle – innately knowing which messaging to use at which point in their journey – truly embodying effective, efficient marketing.


This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership over a subscription retention program – you’ll work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, but ultimately have creative freedom to see ideas through from start to finish, and really make the role your own.


Some of What You’ll Do

 

  • Analyze health of subscription files, and implement full multi-channel retention campaigns accordingly, with the goal of monetizing the current subscriber base, increasing Lifetime Value (LTV) and reducing churn
  • Segment audiences, write copy and utilize CRM (Hubspot) to send multi-channel messaging
  • Monitor effort performance and evaluate analytical success post-campaigns
  • Manage retention marketing calendar, and closely coordinate with necessary teams to ensure content deadlines are met
  • Take a content-first approach in marketing material creation, working closely with the editorial team and Senior Marketing Manager to ensure effective language


The Experience You Bring


  • Retention Marketing background
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in online media or enterprise marketing roles, with a keen interest in the travel industry
  • Clear understanding of digital publishing based on direct experience at media company or client-side role, with successful prior track record in creating/driving quantifiable KPIs and leveraging consumer data to build informed multi-channel retention campaigns
  • Deep understanding of marketing metrics, as they relate to campaign management and reporting
  • Experience with in-depth analytics and problem solving. The ability to think strategically while being detail and execution-oriented, and proven success in managing competing priorities
  • Proficient with a variety of commonly used digital marketing and CRM tools such as Google Analytics, Hubspot, Excel, etc.
  • Comfortable writing marketing content, along with an “eagle-eye” for grammar, brand voice, and style guidelines
