Job Description – Marketing Automation Manager

Division / Department:Marketing

Reports to (position):VP of Marketing

Level / Grade:Manager

Location:Candidates must live in the US

Employment Type:Full Time, Exempt

Work Conditions:Remote

Travel:Up to 15%

Telecommute:Yes

Minimum Educational Req:Four-year college degree in the area of Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent

Years of Experience:Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a marketing automation role, plus 2-3 years in a management role


Position Summary:

The Marketing Automation Manager will oversee the strategy, development, and operation of The CE Shop’s email efforts, which will be focused on real estate, mortgage, home inspection, and appraisal. This is a new role that will support The CE Shop during its next period of growth and beyond. You will

be responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing short- and long-term email and data strategies, including email capture, engagement, conversion, and measurement, to achieve growth and revenue targets.


Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

· Own the marketing automation tool (Marketo) as well as integration between other core tools such as Salesforce and Validity (to be implemented)

· Develop and implement a coordinated, marketing automation strategy that increases overall marketing agility and efficiency

· Empower us to deliver personalized messaging at scale by designing and managing advanced segmentation and data with Lifecycle Marketing Director, leveraging customer personas and journeys

· Manage CRM and email best practices including partnering with product marketing and creative to execute triggered-based campaigns that drive revenue

· Utilize solid testing methodology (A/B and/or multivariate test(s)) to identify opportunities to improve the engagement and conversation rates of automation campaigns

· Analyze and report on lead attribution and pipeline metrics; turning data into strategic decisions and optimized marketing initiatives

· Manage multi-touch email campaigns to accelerate prospect movement through the funnel for our key buying personas, from set up to reporting

· QA copy, links, images, and deliverables to ensure accuracy to campaign specifications and desired results


Minimum Requirements:

· Understanding of how marketing channels complement one another to run the most effective cross-channel campaigns

· Enterprise-level email strategy experience; experience coordinating email programs and audiences across multiple verticals

· Demonstrated ability of working with other teams like digital demand, copywriting, creative, product marketing, and other functions

· Experience implementing Validity into an already existing, robust email program

· Competency with Salesforce and BI tools such as SQL and Tableau, and the ability to interpret and action the data

· Superior project management experience

· Incredibly detail-oriented, with a passion for accuracy and quality

· Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously

· You are a collaborator with effective communication and relationship-building skills

· Experience implementing SMS a plus


Skills Required:

· You have written the best-in-class marketing automation playbook and have expert-level ESP knowledge (Marketo, Pardot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud)

· Strong analytical skills, including comfort with A/B testing, forecasting, iterating, and tracking against key funnel metrics

· High-level of comfort with delivering and growing revenue through email

· Thorough understanding of CAN-SPAM and CASL regulations

· Self-direction, tact, and diplomacy, with a history of producing results

· Ability to work well under pressure and according to deadlines

· High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite of products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has supervisory responsibilities for the Email Marketing team. Supervisory responsibility includes, but is not limited to: staffing, training/development, performance management, work design and direction, and budgeting. This position may manage employees in multiple offices and locations.
