Major League Baseball seeks a Manager, Email Marketing & Automation who will assist the Email & Marketing Automation team in the creation, deployment and asset management for marketing campaigns related to Major League Baseball and all (30) MLB Clubs while also supporting the team with reporting and record keeping of all projects. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, collaborative, detail oriented and ready to learn.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Interpret business audience requests into database queries that select the desired target audience from our database
  • Partner and communicate with technical and non-technical internal and external customers.
  • Manage multiple aspects of email campaign execution in a coordinated effort with the larger digital marketing team.
  • Act as the primary liaison for program management in the technical space for all phases of the campaign management process/cycle. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Participating in strategy discussions, 
  • Understanding business needs and translating those needs into well defined flexible/nimble technical processes, project managing new campaigns/enhancements from inception to implementation, and 
  • Ensuring accurate and timely campaign execution through proactively leveraging technical and business partners.
  • Work with MLB stakeholders to implement league-wide marketing campaigns from start to finish, including: scheduling, managing assets, processing feedback and deployment
  • Using SQL, leverage MLB's marketing database to pull targeted audiences for Club and league campaigns
  • Participate in campaign-related strategy discussions in an effort to maximize ticket and subscription sales
  • Provide support for ad-hoc campaign creation, updates & reporting
  • Work in marketing platforms to create email, web & app push campaigns


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS


A qualified candidate brings a combination of the following attributes to the table:

  • 5 or more years’ experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Strong project management and organization skills with attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated understanding of an omni-channel marketing campaign cycle
  • Knowledge of the digital ad and email communication space
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical customers
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple large-scale projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to problem solve while continuously working to improve processes 
  • Proven understanding of database marketing applications and principles 
  • Experience working with SQL in a business setting (Google BigQuery is a plus)
  • Experience working with large email service providers (Zeta, Iterable and Adobe are a plus)
  • Knowledge of email deliverability best practices
  • Photoshop / InDesign or other graphic design skills a plus
  • Baseball and sports enthusiast is preferred
