The Phoenix Suns are seeking a dynamic and experienced marketing professional specializing in lifecycle marketing and outbound communications, campaign strategy, marketing automation, and mobile marketing to join our growing Digital team.


You will collaborate with Brand Marketing, Business Intelligence, Creative, and Digital Strategy to support member engagement, growth and optimization of the marketing database, elevation of our brand strategies, driving sales conversion, and increasing member retention.


This is a hands-on role, where you will be responsible for leading strategy and execution of marketing communications, owning campaigns end-to-end, leading the full cycle of campaign development and execution. You will also drive experimentation and be responsible for reporting the results of channel marketing and campaign performance to stakeholders and leadership.


What You Will Do

  • Manage end-to-end deployment of email, messenger, SMS, MMS, Push, and in-app campaigns. Includes working with Brand Marketing on brand and content strategies, and Business Intelligence to identify target audience segments
  • Run day-to-day execution of email marketing and SMS strategies, including template design, campaign creation, customer segmentation, A/B testing, and technical execution
  • Lead creation and execution of lifecycle marketing campaigns that deliver against business goals across workflows (fan engagement, membership renewal, merchandise, partner entitlements, etc.)
  • Own email marketing operations, including managing, planning, scheduling, proofing, and quality assurance testing strategies
  • Design, build, optimize, and troubleshoot responsive HTML email templates
  • Create data-driven approaches to track and analyze campaign performance in support of KPIs
  • Employ constant A/B testing (layout, format, frequency, schedule, creative, copy, etc.) to improve email, SMS, and Push performance, optimizing for successful conversion
  • Collaborate with leadership to create a best-in-class email and SMS strategy, defining and prioritizing growth initiatives that support our digital strategy roadmap
  • Develop triggered campaigns and transactional emails in support of member engagement activities
  • Partner with Brand Marketing, Business Intelligence, and Ticket Sales teams to define data requirements to ensure the right data is available for relevant, personalized, and real-time campaigns
  • Monitor performance of lifecycle marketing programs, generate data-driven hypotheses that inform strategies to improve journeys and campaigns
  • Create and maintain an email automation program for the PayPal SixthMan member lifecycle to help maximize retention
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence and Digital Strategy teams to use data and insights to develop a deep understanding of the member mindset and behaviors
  • Analyze and track KPIs and be comfortable presenting them to senior leaders
  • Manage and identify new opportunities to drive engagement through automated journeys


What We Need From Our Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree - Preferred in Advertising, Business, Communications, or Marketing
  • 5+ years of email marketing experience, utilizing Eloqua, Iterable, Marketo, Responsys, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or a similar enterprise ESP and Marketing Automation platform
  • 3+ years of experience developing lifecycle programs; comfortable with segmentation, automation strategy, and marketing using digital channels (email, Push, SMS, in-app, website, etc.)
  • Experience setting up targeting, building multi-step workflows, QA, deploying outbound communications, and reporting on performance
  • Experience with enterprise SMS marketing tools like Airship, Attentive Mobile, Sinch, or Twilio is highly preferred
  • The ability to use CRM and CDP platforms to target audiences, leveraging customer personas, preferences, and interests to drive creation of personalized engagement strategies
  • Experience developing and executing A/B tests to improve performance and decrease churn
  • The ability to edit HTML and CSS
  • The ability to set goals and manage rapidly shifting priorities and timelines
  • Attention to detail and passionate about quality, with a heavy focus on avoiding deployment errors
  • Knowledge of key email fundamentals: responsive design, CAN-SPAM compliance, deliverability, A/B testing, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Familiar with analytics dashboards and visualization tools, i.e., Tableau, Domo, and Looker
