As the Email Marketing Specialist for Sports Endeavors (SEI) you will drive the strategy and tactical execution of email and text messaging (SMS) marketing for our SOCCER.COM and 431 Sports brands.

The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of email marketing experience with a strong understanding of email metrics that help us achieve ecommerce business objectives through a relentless focus on creating the best possible customer experiences.

We are seeking a collaborative, dynamic, hard-working professional with a strong focus on customer service and a desire to work for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization. In addition to exceptional teamwork and analytical skills, you must have a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude.

Major Accountabilities/ Essential Duties

  • Lead the execution of the SOCCER.COM email marketing strategy and process, with a focus on driving profitable revenue growth through personalized and relevant messaging
  • Work alongside the Ecommerce, Merchandising and Sales teams to define engaging and highly relevant email and SMS marketing campaigns to support seasonal priorities and new product launches
  • Analyze performance and collect competitive insights to inform planning and ecommerce strategy decisions while delivering primary business metrics for the email channel
  • Build and plan detailed email and SMS calendar that tightly integrates into the overall marketing plan across channels and brands
  • Grow customer retention and lifetime value through automated and targeted lifecycle campaigns that are valuable to our soccer and multisport customers
  • Analyze email marketing campaigns using Google analytics and email service provider (ESP) data to share with a cross functional team on a regular basis
  • Create and maintain triggered messaging programs including our email automation platform, SMS program and all related website features and functionality
  • Work closely with Team Sales on strategies to develop communications that grow our youth club businesses
  • Continuously test and measure communication strategies that resonate with our customers including subject lines, creative, promotional offers, landing pages, delivery times, messaging cadence, loyalty incentives and more
  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence and Ecommerce teams on email segmentation strategies across channels while adhering to email best practices, monitoring industry trends, and making strategic recommendations that can grow the overall business
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of customer database growth, data quality and customer retention for all ecommerce marketing campaigns and use data and insights to continually refine and optimize our programs
  • Work with the Creative and Content Teams to ensure all email designs and messaging are consistent with brand communications and are visually compelling
  • Provide support for projects, site developments and other initiatives where applicable
  • Work with Legal & IT to ensure data privacy and legal requirements and requests are met


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or another related field
  • Email marketing experience within an ecommerce retail environment strongly preferred
  • Previous experience working with third party marketing agencies and email service providers
  • Highly collaborative and willing to partner across functions and departments to consistently deliver high quality communications to our customers
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to use data insights to develop and measure marketing campaigns
  • Experience conducting and analyzing email A/B tests strongly preferred
  • Strong, energetic character able to positively communicate strategic ideas and adapt to changing requirements effectively
  • Ability to deliver exceptional results within a fast-paced retail environment while adhering to budgets
  • Strong attention to detail with a creative mindset
  • HTML experience and technical understanding of email marketing platforms preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills required
  • Strong experience with Google Analytics (or similar analytics platforms)
