The purpose of this job is to support the Manager of Digital Experience with the execution our marketing automation strategy and vision for both B2C and B2B aspects of our business. The position will help develop and execute RM’s email marketing and lead nurture strategies to generate sales from our marketing funnel and improve the experience for our guests and partners. The role will also help manage and build marketing automation programs and processes that establish a strong platform and data foundation. 


Key Areas of Accountability 

Lead Nurturing and Email Marketing

  • Find new lead nurture opportunities to drive core KPIs
  • Continuously test and optimize existing lead nurture and email campaigns (e.g. promotional emails)
  • Work with stakeholders to design and deploy ad-hoc email campaigns to achieve business needs (i.e. invite trade show attendees, push TRACKS completion and booking, etc)
  • Lead and execute email program setup: create custom fields, segments, Marketo landing page, campaign send logic 
  • Analyze data and utilizing research to discover ways to improve the effectiveness of campaigns from acquisition to revenue to renewal
  • Oversee creative development of new email templates and redesign of existing templates for best practices, optimization of deliverability, and look and feel
  • Build and test emails before deployment, being held accountable for catching bugs and/or typos. 
  • Support the writing of compelling content for email campaigns that drive results
  • Actively work to ensure email campaigns are impactful and accurately tracked

Automation Platform Management

  • Support efforts to maintain database health and data quality
  • Troubleshoot marketing automation issues such as debugging email programs and lead management issues
  • Find areas of improvement for efficiencies in building and deploying email campaigns
  • Build and maintain quality lists and segmentations that support email and automation efforts 
  • Ensure our database is up-to-date on the latest CASL and GDPR compliance regulations
  • Support the development and implementation of marketing attribution on our platform
  • Responsible for documenting marketing platform processes and architecture
  • Support the development and implementation of lifecycle management and lead scoring capabilities
  • Collaborate with Salesforce administrators to enhance integrations and troubleshoot CRM issues
  • Manage relationship with external stakeholders such as our platform agency partner, including attending regular meetings to ensure projects are on track and aligned with business objectives, and organize and set agendas for quarterly business performance reviews between partner and Rocky Mountaineer

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop dashboards and reports that accurately communicate marketing automation and email efforts
  • Oversee quality control of the data tracking and reporting on the Marketo platform
  • Ensure that all trackable activities in Marketo are tracked using industry-best practices
  • Analyze the performance of email campaigns and nurture programs and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Analyze results from A/B tests, extract insights and provide recommendations 
  • Communicate performance and insights to the wider marketing team and organization
  • Support the fiscal responsibilities of the team, including managing invoices from vendors, monitoring budgets and spend, and forecasting for targets and goals



Education / Certifications / Knowledge

  • Technical degree in Technology or Marketing required
  • Undergraduate degree in Technology or Marketing desired


  • 3+ years’ experience with building lead nurture and lifecycle management programs using enterprise-level marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua, Sitecore Experience Automation, etc.). 
  • Experience in CRM (Salesforce preferred) and database management including: list management, cleansing, de-duplication, data validation, custom report creation, and import/export of data.  
  • A successful track record of conceptualizing and building email and lead nurture campaigns
  • 3+ years’ experience in a relevant Marketing or Sales Operations role with a deep understanding of lead-to-revenue demand funnels and reporting desired
  • Experience in demand generation strategies desired


  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of A/B testing and conversion rate optimization
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy and customer psychology
  • Understanding of integrated digital marketing strategies
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to develop and present strategic analysis that leads to actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to write compelling content for email marketing desired
  • Hands-on experience with SQL or Python desired
  • Knowledge of data reporting tools like PowerBI or Tableau desired
  • Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio diagramming (or similar workflow diagramming) experience desired
  • HTML, Illustrator, and Photoshop experience desired
