The Email Marketing Specialist is an integral role on the E-Commerce Team at Outdoor Research. You will bring passion for consumer marketing, the ability to leverage your digital marketing experience to think strategically and execute flawlessly, and passion for storytelling of Outdoor Research’s award-winning products. You will be responsible for owning acquisition and retention strategies end to end for our Email & SMS programs – ranging from segmentation, product marketing, and promotions to lifecycle, transactional, and triggered event campaigns. You will bring curiosity and creativity along with a passion for data to optimize engagement with our consumer segments. The Email Marketing Specialist will also bring ideas for increasing the Email & SMS lists and drive continual A/B testing to deliver qualified traffic to the OR website, while improving conversion performance and achieving the team’s sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the master editorial content calendar at a strategic and tactical level to create impactful Marketing and Promotional Email & SMS campaigns that align with our seasonal and monthly product priorities
  • Manage the operational end-to-end production process and deliverables for Marketing & Transactional Emails including campaign planning, creation, list management, QA/Testing, scheduling, and reporting through our Email Service Provider
  • Partner with cross-functional team members (Merchandisers, Marketing, Product Managers, Customer Service, Inventory Analysts) to meet deadlines according to the editorial calendar and planning process
  • Own briefs & detailed requests to copy & creative stakeholders ensuring quality and timely delivery
  • Develop the graphic design elements that align with our creative brand guidelines to maintain inspirational and engaging content that drives click-through
  • Analyze and optimize Email & SMS campaign performance by building out A/B test plans and monitoring on-going measurements & results while delivering insights and recommendations for continuous KPI improvement
  • Generate and implement ideas to grow the number of Email & SMS subscribers with a personalized segmentation approach resulting in overall list health
  • Stay current on email best practices, technologies & trends and ensure deliverability & compliance regulations with CAN SPAM and CASL
  • Manage the relationship with our Email Service Provider and demonstrate open, professional, and detailed communication with our business partners

What You Bring to the Table:

  • · 3+ years’ Experience in Email Marketing and/or other Digital Marketing
  • · Bachelor’s Degree in E-Commerce, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • · Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • · Exceptional project management and communication skills with the proven ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with an attention to detail
  • · Strong working knowledge of an Email Service Provider (ie. Listrak)
  • · Design skills and experience using Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • · Experience with HTML
  • · Experience with Google Analytics
  • · Strong quantitative skills to analyze sales reports and campaign results to implement optimizations
  • · Ability to demonstrate big picture thinking and knowledge of company initiatives, business priorities and cross-functional relationships that can be translated to customer-facing strategies
  • · Self-motivated, results-oriented, entrepreneurial, passionate, proactive, creative & team player
  • · Passion for the outdoors and Outdoor Research’s core sports is a plus
