We are currently looking for an Email Marketing Specialist to help in our efforts. The day-to-day essence of this role is to inform and implement the email marketing strategy for the company’s three brands (Library Journal | School Library Journal | The Horn Book)by engaging customers with targeted emails increasing opens and conversion rates, maintaining overall list health, and polishing current email templates. You’ll take ownership of developing segmentation and targeting strategies for marketing campaigns and lifecycle flows while helping create all webcast, newsletters, and promotional emails. Along the way you’ll be working with the marketing, editorial, and sales teams to formulate email strategies and tactics, followed by implementation, as well as use email to conduct surveys to understand customers better, implement a client email program, and deliver editorial newsletters.

The ideal candidate has experience building, optimizing, and deploying email campaigns using marketing automation/email software such as ActOn and HubSpot. They have meticulous attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects at once in an ever-changing environment. They understand the importance email fundamentals such as list management, deliverability, segmentation, KPIs and how to analyze email campaign performance and suggest improvements.

This role requires someone who understands HTML/CSS coding and has solid analytical skills leveraging data for insights and action. They can cultivate email databases for targeted lead generation and are versatile with Microsoft Excel. The candidate also understands the importance of maintaining a strong team relationship across departments. The Email Marketing Specialist is a remote position reporting to the Director of Marketing. Currently, we are employing legal residents of the following states: CT, FL, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, WA and operating on eastern standard time.
