The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for strategizing, monitoring and optimizing email marketing activities to drive bottom line business results. This role will be focused on scaling email marketing and SMS programs by creating unique, personalized communications that promote loyalty and lifetime value. A lasting high attention to detail throughout testing, tracking, analyzing, implementing and iterating is essential in this role. 


Primary Responsibilities:  


Email Communications: 

  • Drives email channel performance through effective strategy, content, segmentation and personalization to achieve business objectives 
  • Creates, maintains, executes and analyzes email communications driving an email editorial calendar, across all LOBs for both the side of the business, and for every point in the customers journey (prospecting, customer, past customer) 
  • Uses data to understand and evaluate the end-to-end consumer journey across channels, platforms and touchpoints 
  • Monitors and minimizes unsubscribe, bounce, complaint rates and ensure spam regulation compliance 
  • Aligns with B2C and B2B marketing plans that include strategies, promotions and events (national/local) to expand into new markets and boost sales in current markets 
  • Reinforces and builds upon best practices for digital marketing strategy, campaign management and reporting 
  • Oversees day-to-day email marketing efforts, working closely with creative and copy to ensure on time delivery of assets, best-in-class creative production, and pixel-perfect execution 


Lead Generation & Conversion: 

  • Collaborates with marketing and sales to determine goals, target segments, campaign flow and offers to achieve business objectives 
  • Maintains individual communication triggers that align with other sales tactics - cart abandonment, rates reminders, ad clicks, content form fills, sponsorship sweepstakes, etc. 
  • Provides recommendations on how to improve campaign performance based on previous campaign insights – in order to drive demand gen and digital conversions 


Reputation Management: 

  • Sets the strategy and cadence for our reputation management tools like TrustPilot and Podium 
  • Closely partners with the brand team to create proactive experiences aimed at improving the online reputation of the business across channels like Yelp, Google and social media channels 
  • Continuously monitors, updates and collaborates with online conversation on Google Knowledge Panel, Reddit, NextDoor, and other community discussion boards – also ensures platforms are on brand and frequently updated 


Analytics & Reporting: 

  • Analyzes data, including open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, ROI, among other KPIs, and draws actionable insights and recommendations to optimize results 
  • Works alongside UX Designer to plan and run A/B testing, conversion testing and other experiments to optimize the customer journey 
  • Partners with marketing optimization analyst to refine approach for cross tactic collaboration, segmentation and campaign measurement 


Required Skills: 

  • Knowledge of marketing funnel, customer purchase journeys, and consumer behavior patterns 
  • Highly detailed oriented to manage multiple business line calendars, projects and details 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Excel in project management, collaboration, and communication skills 
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management to operate in a fast paced and creative environment 


Minimum Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of experience working with email marketing and/or marketing automation platforms (HubSpot preferred) 
  • Well-versed in demand generation/performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition 
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in email marketing and automation 
  • Proven, strong skillset with building and executing complex customer lifecycle journey paths and email campaigns across both B2B and B2C 
  • Experience strategizing and executing comprehensive list segmentation, life cycle / drip automations, and triggered events within an ESP 
  • Familiarity with A/B and multivariate experiments
