We are hiring in our Portland Maine location for aEmail Marketing Manager in our Commercial (B2B) marketing team. This role is responsible for technical strategy, project management, prioritization, and development of dynamic, data-driven marketing campaigns for our veterinary practice partners, as well as the marketing tools and data structure that support those campaigns. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across Commercial Marketing, Sales, Product, and Engineering to translate high-level objectives into actionable plans, then oversee the development of those campaigns to drive critical business goals. You’ll also play a key part in the continued evolution of our B2B communications strategy, serving as the subject matter expert in campaign development and execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Other duties may be assigned.

  • Define and own the technical strategy driving practice-facing marketing campaigns
  • Manage the Commercial Email Marketing team, prioritizing team resources to meet project objectives while efficiently supporting ongoing business needs
  • Oversee campaign production and execution, including audience selection, segmentation, dynamic content development, template design, QA, and campaign monitoring
  • Collaborate across teams to define requirements for and manage projects
  • Identify opportunities to extend B2B marketing programs to new audiences and channels
  • Assist with the development, execution, and analysis of a comprehensive testing strategy
  • Own the technical relationship with our B2B marketing platform partners and vendors, and serve as subject matter expert in requirements gathering for new marketing tools and services
  • Design and build the next iteration of our B2B marketing infrastructure to accelerate business growth

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • 2 direct reports.



  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years of technically-oriented marketing experience, including leadership experience



  • Thorough understanding of the latest email marketing best practices
  • Familiarity with a wide range of push marketing channels, including SMS/RCS and Direct Mail
  • Hands-on proficiency with enterprise ESPs, using complex segmentation, dynamic content, and multivariate testing
  • Experience leading or acting as key stakeholder for marketing platform RFP, implementation, and migration
  • Project management experience, including defining requirements, establishing timelines, and coordinating cross-team execution
  • Proficiency with SQL and data management
  • Experience with Salesforce and the Salesforce data model
  • Experience in marketing-focused reporting and analysis
  • Proficiency with HTML & CSS, focused on email development
  • Familiarity with advanced templating languages and frameworks (MJML, Twig)
  • Excellent QA skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to translate high-level concepts into technical detail, and vice-versa, to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools, thrive in a fast-paced business environment and adapt quickly
  • Proactive, strategic problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize, self-manage, and seek help when necessary
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines working with a wide range of teams and stakeholders


  • Experience working with APIs
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Proficiency with a web analytics tool, preferably Google Analytics
