Job Summary:

The Ad Council's Marketing and Branding team is looking for an Email Marketing Coordinator who will play a key role in supporting our email marketing initiatives. The Email Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for preparing and sending email marketing communications on behalf of the Ad Council's campaigns, brand initiatives and events. This position will report into the Email Marketing Manager.

This is a contract employee role. This means that, while the position is at all times one of "at will employment", the Ad Council anticipates at present that the employment length would be approximately 6 months. The compensation for this position is $4,500 - 5,500 monthly, paid semi-monthly. Contract employees will be eligible to participate in limited benefits and paid time off. We are also open to this role being a fully remote position.

What you'll do:

Email Marketing

  • Schedule, build/code, QC and deploy Ad Council branded emails
  • Route email marketing copy and layouts to appropriate internal teams for feedback and approval
  • Proofread emails for clarity, grammar, and spelling, ensure all URL links are correct
  • Edit & crop images as needed for best presentation in emails
  • Ensure emails follow industry policies and best practices
  • Update email templates as needed to ensure compatibility across a wide variety of platforms and browsers
  • Write and edit copy as needed
  • Assist Email Marketing Manager with monitoring and reporting on key email marketing metrics
  • Assist Email Marketing Manager with email strategy, customer journey development, personalization, and segmentation strategy and implementation

Database Management

  • Build database queries, QC results
  • Monitor data quality, troubleshoot as needed
  • Upload and QC imported data files
  • Monitor email inboxes and provide data updates as needed to CRM Administrator

What you bring:

  • Prior work experience in email marketing or digital marketing
  • 3+ year of experience in the communications/advertising industry or related field
  • Working knowledge of HTML, ability to code and troubleshoot code as needed
  • Prior experience with an enterprise level email marketing platform such as Acoustic Campaign (formerly Watson Campaign Automation), Klaviyo, Adobe Marketo, Braze, Campaign Monitor, etc.
  • Understanding of CAN-SPAM and other email regulations
  • Strong proficiency with marketing and digital technology landscape and trends across the stack
  • Understanding of traditional marketing disciplines, including customer segmentation, email marketing, lead generation & database management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, including pivot table creation
  • Excellent written communication skills, good eye for design
  • Keen attention to detail
  • An ability to work well under tight deadlines
