This position is an integral part of our award-winning ecommerce team as we re-shape the way customers experience SmartPak. The Email Developer will be responsible for executing all aspects of our email channel, including planning and deployment of campaigns, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the email channel. This position will report to the Email Marketing Manager and assist with driving the channel forward by increasing customer engagement and loyalty.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Owns execution of email campaigns, which includes setup, testing, segmenting and deployment to support company-wide goals
  • Manage the email database management, including, but not limited to, email list growth and hygiene
  • Manage segmentation of the email database, ensuring optimal messages go to the correct targets
  • Oversees optimal inbox placement and monitor email deliverability, following CAN-SPAM compliance
  • Optimize performance of key metrics through by formulating A/B tests, based around best practices and current email campaign performance and recipient behavior
  • Measure and analyze email campaigns as needed, including KPIs such as open rates, click through rates, unsubscribes, revenue and conversions, through reporting sources within our Email Service Provider, Google Analytics and our marketing database
  • Stay up-to-speed on and adhere to email industry best practices and developing trends within the industry and technology within our ESP, making updates to program and suggestions to key stakeholders along the way
  • Leads Creative Interactive Designers to QA email campaigns and continuously implement best email design practices
  • Work closely with the Email Marketing Manager & Marketing Managers to develop new strategies within the channel
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to see a project through from start to finish, with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments and multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience in identifying and troubleshooting problems
  • Strong analytical skills & ability to display information & data in a digestible manner
  • Ability to make independent, reliable decisions
  • Ambitious, with the ability to self-manage and initiate projects
  • Adaptable and flexible working style, remaining calm under pressure, and adjusting comfortably to changing conditions and priorities
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word skills
  • Insatiable appetite to learn
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Proficient SQL/Boolean query and database knowledge
  • 2+ years experience in email marketing
  • 2+ years of experience working in an eCommerce environment
