The Email Marketing Specialist is a role on the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) team, based in-house team under the Retail Division of Heritage Brands (currently Van Heusen, IZOD, Speedo USA, Warner’s & Olga Intimates). Collaborating with the Marketing, Creative, and IT departments, the team delivers support for offline and online initiatives.

The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for the daily execution of marketing and triggered emails, SMS, drive personalization across channels, track key metrics on an ongoing basis, derive insights from results and share recommendations with the broader digital team.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities Of The Job

  • Execute day-to-day operational tasks to support email & SMS marketing programs, from creative setup and HTML coding to testing/QA and deployment via email service provider platform
  • Create and maintain automated, personalized campaigns to drive loyalty and engagement
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders within Heritage Marketing teams to ensure all design solutions and creative assets meet deadlines and objectives
  • Proactively resolve problems and troubleshoot in order to keep work flow on schedule and escalate higher level conflicts to manager for resolution
  • Responsible for the design and update of responsive email templates, utilizing HTML and CSS to drive targeted content optimized for the user’s device
  • Track key engagement metrics (deliverability, opens, clicks, unsubscribes) and report on email campaign results, highlighting successes, trends and opportunities
  • Set up A/B test and learn campaigns (subject line, creative, layout, copy, etc.) to identify marketing opportunities to drive incremental revenue
  • Share insights and program results and work in partnership with key stakeholders and prioritize direct-to-consumer marketing opportunities
  • Develop and grow SMS program from strategy development to campaign integration
  • Communicate internally with CRM Dept., Corporate MarketingHeritage Brands (supports Van Heusen, IZOD, Warner’s & Olga Intimates), IT, Store Ops, Customer Insights
  • Communicate externally with vendors such as SalesForce Marketing Cloud, Personalization Digital Partners (such as BlueCore)

Qualifications & Experience

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in email marketing retail preferred,with HTML knowledge

Education: Bachelor’s degree required


  • Experience handling high volumes of email production: setup and execution of campaigns, inclusive of A/B multivariate testing, triggered messaging and marketing automation
  • Working knowledge of marketing automation best practices. Experience in setting up digital marketing journeys, data-driven contextual campaigns and personalization a plus
  • Skilled in HTML (specifically related to email mobile responsive templates) & SQL languages
  • Aptitude to think outside-the-box to solve problems and improve processes
  • Passionate about gathering, analyzing and leveraging performance data to both identify optimization and new opportunities for growth.
  • Experience with Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Run ongoing testing initiatives and identify marketing opportunities
  • Implement ad-hoc projects as necessary while maintaining delivery of on-going projects and key performance indicators
  • Ability to work with multiple cross functional partners including IT, creative services, CRM, ecommerce and merchants
  • Careful attention to detail without sacrificing deadlines; the right candidate will be able to juggle several, sometimes conflicting deadlines
  • Proactive contributor with the desire to learn quickly
  • Can work in fluid environment and meet deadlines with changing priorities
