What's the purpose of this role?



The Global Director of Lifecycle Marketing is responsible for strategy, plan and delivery in order to develop deep, loyal relationships with our customer's, delivering creative and engaging ‘always on' experiences that ultimately motivate our users and customers to register, use our free and paid services regularly, and become advocates of the brand and services by referring their friends.



The role reports to the VP of Global Marketing and is based in Irvine, California.

Responsibilities



  • Create the customer lifecycle marketing vision and strategy for our business and consumer users and customers to deliver increases in customer acquisition, and transactions
  • Translate the vision and strategy into the roadmap, requirements and activities.
  • Leverage technology solution to create engaging, impactful communications to our customers and prospects
  • Build and develop the CRM team in order to create a team culture of curiosity and empowerment, where our colleagues have a learning mindset and take the initiative to deliver outcomes.
  • Measure, monitor and continuously improve campaign performance through testing and learning.
  • Lead an ‘always on' tactical campaign schedule, helping customers decide when to transfer by informing them rapidly about volatility in the global currency markets, build the brand, adoption of our app, and reactivate lapsed customers.
  • Develop customer lifetime value models, micro segmentation, propensity models and event driven triggers working closely with the Data Science team. Leverage these insights in the design of customer journeys and campaigns.
  • Drive growth through the refer-a-friend scheme by promoting it and integrating it into the customer experience at key relevant touchpoints.


Essential Skills and experience



  • Significant experience of leading, building and developing a customer lifecycle marketing team
  • 10+ years of marketing experience including 5+ years in B2C
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of email marketing platforms and ideally experience implementing, managing a marketing automation platform such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Passionate about customers & with strong experience of customer marketing strategy that demonstrates a combination of structured analysis, creativity and pragmatism to turn strategic direction into well-resourced plans
  • A data mindset combined with strong experience in the application of ‘big data' analytics to improving our customer's experience & enjoyment of the brand and lifetime value
  • A strong track record of managing a marketing team's project delivery successfully
  • A deep understanding of how to create beautiful & compelling communications from the early stages of customer insight and proposition development to communications strategy, integrated channel planning and best practice execution
  • An entrepreneurial approach and a strong ROI mindset
  • A leadership style that engages the team and encourages the team culture described
  • Comfortable presenting at all levels to small groups and larger audiences
  • Great stakeholder management
  • Able to take the initiative and find a path forward when faced with ambiguity
  • A passion for the global payments sector, marketing and your own personal development


Desirable

  • A mix of experience in large and smaller companies
  • Hands on marketing automation experience using Iterable or similar platform.
  • Experience of Agile product management techniques
  • Experience in live markets, like gaming, travel bookings
  • Experience in regulated industries
