We are seeking an experienced Director of Customer Retention to lead our email and SMS marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in email and SMS marketing, with a deep understanding of customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and retention strategies. They will be responsible for developing and executing campaigns and automated flows that drive engagement, loyalty, and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive email and SMS marketing strategy to retain customers and drive revenue growth
  • Create and manage customer segmentation and lifecycle marketing campaigns, including welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, and winback
  • Develop and execute targeted campaigns that drive revenue growth and customer engagement, including promotions, upsell/cross-sell, and product launches
  • Monitor email and SMS campaign performance, analyze data, and provide insights and recommendations to optimize performance and improve customer retention
  • Develop and manage automated flows, including trigger-based and behavioral campaigns, that deliver relevant and timely messages to customers throughout the customer journey
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment on business plans and objectives
  • Continuously test and optimize campaigns and flows to improve performance and increase customer engagement and retention
  • Manage email and SMS marketing budgets and vendor relationships
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices, and leverage emerging technologies and tactics to improve performance and drive innovation


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in email and SMS marketing, preferably in the eCommerce fashion industry
  • Proven track record of driving customer retention and revenue growth through email and SMS marketing campaigns and automated flows
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across departments and with external partners
  • Experience with email and SMS marketing platforms and tools, such as Klaviyo and Attentive
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms, such as Shopify or Magento, and digital marketing channels, including paid search and social media
