Job Description

Remote: This position does not require employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work off-site on a permanent basis.

The Campaign Specialist/Strategist consults w/key marketing stakeholders regarding campaign strategy, audience segments, data components, channels (direct mail, email, online, etc.), post campaign analytics set up, and data delivery/timing. They must understand the current GM Owner/Former customer database, work with external data sources and provide recommendations & insights accordingly. Strong communication skills are a must, with detailed & accurate business requirement gathering and technical/business documentation abilities. This position acts as a liaison between the GM business, GMIT developers, GM Privacy, agencies/vendors, fulfillment and execution partners, thus, the ability to problem solve and provide solutions to complex database related queries/requests, and the ability to adhere to required data quality checking processes to ensure 100% accuracy, is critical.


  • Ability to consult, negotiate & advise w/key internal/external marketing managers/stakeholders, agency contacts, and email operations contacts, regarding campaign strategy, data components & data delivery/timing
  • Strong communication skills, detailed & accurate business requirement gathering/documentation
  • Understanding & adherence to required data quality checking processes to ensure 100% accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail habits and an emphasis on quality vs. quantity
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solutions to complex database related queries/requests
  • Participate in consulting with clients on server solution deployments and system integrations
  • Participate in, scoping, level of effort and implementation processes for those services specific to campaign delivery
  • Apply industry knowledge and subject matter expertise of client’s business needs to marketing campaign specifications of complex nature for solution enhancements
  • Advise clients on solution modifications; initiate solution/campaign changes
  • Drive practical innovation in solution delivery while keeping all affected parties informed
  • Scope includes multiple clients or client with multiple lines of business
  • Experience with campaign management tools and a strong project management background is preferred
  • Ability to build/maintain solid internal/external client relationships and manage expectations in a trustful and honest manner
  • Meet multiple client driven deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Experience and/or strong understanding of database marketing or direct multi-channel marketing, lead fulfillment and digital strategy
  • Solid problem solving, trouble-shooting and decision making skills
  • Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal communication and team building skills to manage conflict in a professional manner
  • Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task, with a calm, professional demeanor
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other work/task management solutions
  • Bachelors degree required, advanced degree(s) a plus, in addition to considering past marketing/database experience

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Adobe Campaign / Adobe Audience Manager experience/knowledge
  • Data segmentation/Data models knowledge, digital/email marketing
  • A track record of strong client and internal team relationships
  • Data handling and/or data privacy experience/knowledge
  • Automotive database marketing experience/knowledge


  • The expected base compensation for this role is: 86,454.80 - 141,057.83 USD Annual .
  • Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
