This position involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday & Friday / on site: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The Corporate Vice President, Customer & Email Website Strategy is responsible for leading a team of associates in the creation and execution of email & website program strategies to drive improvement to conversions throughout the customer journey for AARP Life Insurance.

Email Strategy

  • Drive the in-house email marketing strategy including content, frequency, and messaging with risk management always in mind
  • Manage all elements of the campaign process, including building templates, creating workflow, identifying audience segments, testing, and analyzing email results
  • Continue to grow the triggered email, reoffer email and lead generation email programs across all lines of business
  • Collaborate with marketing counterparts to define lead nurture paths
  • Build and execute a comprehensive testing plan, including subject lines, content offers, copy, etc.
  • Develop email dashboards for reviewing email KPIs on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to continually optimize e-mail campaigns
  • Employ a consistent best-practice approach for creating email templates, dynamic content, testing methodologies, list segmentation, and deliverability using Adobe Campaign and other email tools Like Litmus
  • Perform competitor analysis to understand their email marketing programs and efforts

Web Strategy

  • Plans, develops, and implements online marketing strategies and learning agenda to support our growing lines of life insurance business with a focus on existing policyholder experience
  • Analyzes and interprets digital experience effectiveness, identifying key drivers of site conversion and assessing impact of marketing touchpoints to determine ability to scale initiatives and drive significant impact to the business
  • Monitors website performance and makes continuous improvements to evolve site content to maximize effectiveness
  • Creates and maintains A/B and multivariate test campaigns using Adobe Test & Target and/or Sitecore
  • Based on strategic business objectives, designs and maintains analytics dashboards and other reports
  • Masters new analytics products within Adobe analytics suite and strategically uses tools to advance business objectives
  • Runs ad hoc reports as needed, and provides analysis and actionable recommendations
  • Monitors web analytics daily (traffic and conversion), identifies risks and opportunities, and communicates performance trends to team
  • Provides leadership on mobile web platform strategies and best practices
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships with various members of the organization and corporate functions
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required
  • Manage projects and deliverables from start to finish leveraging internal teams and managing external vendors
  • Build relationships with functional teams to deliver on projects
  • Monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new technologies to improve sales performance
  • Create and maintain procedure documentation
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years hands-on experience and proven track record of managing all aspects of email campaigns from creation to delivery, preferably in a B-to-C environment
  • 5+ years’ experience managing web properties, preferably in a B-to-C environment
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS with ability to rapidly learn and master diverse web technologies and techniques required
  • Knowledge of diverse email & web technologies with the ability to learn new technologies to help grow the business
  • Leadership or managerial experience with responsibility for providing direction and coaching
  • Experience in mobile website strategy and responsive design
  • 3+ years working with Adobe Campaign and other email monitoring & execution tools like Litmus
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing, preferably with Adobe Test & Target
  • 3+ years working with Adobe Analytics and other web statistics tools
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to drive initiatives from concept through completion
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills a must
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong personality with the ability to convey ideas and strategies to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and respond to quickly changing business conditions
  • Well-organized, with great attention to detail
  • Self-directed, proactive, and able to define and execute projects independently
  • The ability to roll-up sleeves and lead by example at both strategic and tactical levels
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Working experience with Microsoft Access; other database experience a plus
  • Able to learn new technologies and data analysis techniques
