The Associate Designer, Email works closely with other designers, marketing coordinators, specialists, associates, agencies and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced agency-like environment. The Associate Designer, Email is responsible for providing design support for digital marketing campaign emails that include digital banners, social media assets, emails, landing pages and website updates as they relate to the CDW marketing plan and business needs with a primary focus on email.


What you will do:

  • Design, create and send responsive emails for recurring deployments and campaigns
  • Manage recurring email sends, triggered email programs and deployments
  • Design, develop and code new email templates in Hubspot and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Maintain digital styles for emails
  • Define design solutions for profiles and preferences experiences
  • Design and develop static or animated digital banners, web banners and social media assets for desktop and mobile experiences
  • Create new landing pages or update existing landing pages on CDW.ca
  • Perform online content updates and maintenance to CDW Canada website sections 
  • Coordinate revisions for assigned projects, prepare files and schedules deployments
  • Translate brand and business strategies and requirements into effective cohesive design focused on the CDW customer
  • Collaborate cross functionally on projects
  • Use departmental-standard creative tools to express design concepts in high fidelity
  • Attentive to detail – terminology, appearance, OS standards, behaviors, and workflows
  • Determine layout, sizes and produce designs that reflects CDW brand standards (colours, fonts, guidelines)
  • Able to iterate rapidly and create multiple solutions
  • Able to set personal schedules and meet deadlines
  • Produce multiple, time sensitive projects daily
  • Maintain consistency and overall production quality on multiple CDW projects
  • Meet production standards and schedules for assigned projects
  • Monitor website metrics as required
  • Provide support to the marketing or design team as required which may require working evenings or weekends 


What you need to succeed:

Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in human computer interaction, user experience, visual arts, graphic design or related field from a university, equivalent degree from college or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of web or related design experience.
  • Online portfolio demonstrating design abilities and qualifications for role
  • Proficiency of the latest Adobe Creative Suite along with proficiency in HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of media and knowledge of basic design principles, layout, colour theory, interface and website design
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to creatively problem solve
  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders
  • History of successfully balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines


Nice to have:

  • Prior experience working in technology industry.
  • Experience with Hubspot CRM and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Portfolio showcasing email designs
  • An obsession for great email experiences
  • Understanding on limitations and capabilities of various email clients
  • Experience with designing, developing and code email templates in Hubspot
  • Knowledge of WCAG and AODA compliance
  • Familiar with display and social media ad specifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Previous experience with digital platforms
  • Previous experience working in a Mac and PC environments.
  • Experience with Responsive design
  • Familiarity in front-end development and coding
  • Familiarity with User Research Techniques
  • Bilingual, French and English language
